Packet Tracer success

Posted: October 5, 2010 in Infrastructure Management and Disaster Recovery

Between the frequent software crashes known to plague Cisco Packet Tracer on Windows 7, I managed to mock up a basic three-subnet network topology.

This might just be the most basic thing in the world, but this took me two hours for the sole reason that I didn’t notice the little ‘On’ checkbox next to the Port Status of each router. I was merrily virtual-cabling up to the sight of red status lights all over the place. Check the box and suddenly everythign lights up like a Christmas tree, and all my devioces can communicate.

Woo! Yay! Week 3 exercises complete!
