Packet Tracer Mad Skillz

Posted: October 7, 2010 in Infrastructure Management and Disaster Recovery

This evening I started making my virtual organisation in Packet Tracer. So far I have my server farm with all the virtual services configured: HTTP, email, file sharing etc. I’ve perfunctorily hooked up a bunch of sample devices like a desktop, tablet, smart phone, laptop.

Tomorrow I will work on the sub netting design with virtual floors, a restricted subnet (Finance) and maybe a remote site.

Sounds dull? Surprisingly not. I’m learning a lot, and Packet Tracer is a brilliant little tool, even if it does crash every five minutes. Five? Make that two. Still good though.

Steve.
